A patient who attacked a nurse at Baton Rouge General’s Behavioral Health Unit in April has been charged with manslaughter.
According to the coroner’s report, nurse Lynne Truxillo died from blood clots in her right knee and lungs, which blocked off an artery, and those clots were a result of her attack at the hospital a week prior. According to those close to Truxillo, she sought medical care during the week prior to her death for her deteriorating health.
According to police records, Truxillo was attacked by Jessie Guillory. Guillory got into an altercation with another hospital worker, during which Truxillo attempted to intervene. Guillory reportedly grabbed Truxillo by her neck and shoved her head into a desk.
