The renewed importance of Emergency Nurses Week

Recent tragedies have highlighted the importance of emergency nurses, and Nurse Leader Insider would like to thank emergency nurses everywhere for their tireless lifesaving work, and encourages them to take care of themselves this week.

Karen Wiley MSN, RN, CEN, the president of the Emergency Nurses Association, shared the following statement in recognition of Emergency Nurses Week:

“I am most proud of the way our nurses have come together in the past several weeks. With the devastation from multiple hurricanes and the unconscionable event in Las Vegas, we have seen countless acts of sacrifice, selflessness, and dedication in emergency care from our nurses. I am proud of my colleagues every day, but the effort I have seen through these tragedies is truly remarkable.”
